			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Reunion was held on May 5th, over 100 people were in attendance including family and friends.Thank you to our <strong>Boston College Conexion Alumni Ines Maturana Sendoya</strong>, chair of the host committee, Boston College committee members are Richard Jefferson, Executive Director of the Office for Institutional Diversity, Ramiro Oliva Co-director Latinos at BC, and members of the Office of Human Resources. The committee also includes our BC Conexión alumni Ray Rivera, Adaline Mirabel Camacho and Anita Ulloa.</p>
<p>We had a chance to reconnect and  make new connections. We  wish to thank Boston College and  TJX Inc. for making this wonderful event possible.  We also  wish to thank all who helped  make it a great  day.</p>
<p>This was a chance to catch up with other <em>“Conexiónistas”</em> as well as meet new members of Conexión and for those with new babies and there are a few, see the future leaders of the country! We got to hear from our thought leader Jesse Treviño. We were also pleased to have several non profits with whom we have been engaged in working to identify Latino professionals interested in mentoring our youth and young adults.</p>

The Community Readings will run Monday through Thursday from 6:30-8:00 PM, and will close on Friday from 7:30-10 PM with Noche Bohemia.</p>
<p>The <a href="http://cdn.umb.edu/images/ilt/HWW_2013_Flyer.pdf">Hispanic Writers Week</a> project is an innovative, weeklong initiative that introduces Latino literary professionals from all corners of the Hispanic world to local Latino students.</p>
<p>Utilizing interactive seminars and lectures, the project aims to educate students about the importance of using writing as a tool for educational advancement, communication, as an alternative for conflict resolution. The week-long workshops are being conducted in public school classrooms and libraries of Boston, Cambridge, and Chelsea.</p>
<p><strong>Food</strong> will be served every night and the program is completely FREE and OPEN to residents of our beautiful and resilient Boston. Join us for what will undoubtedly be a very special week.</p>

One of our mentees Mary Skelton Roberts noted in our discussion of Daniel Pink’s <strong>DRIVE</strong>: &#8220;<em>Good people, great topic and a nice environment for connecting with other Conexión partners.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Studies show that 1/3 to 1/2 (depending on the study) of all adults in North America are introverts, yet the American culture has glorified the extrovert ideal. That is, Cain argues, a disadvantage not only for the introverts, many of whom end up pretending to be something they&#8217;re not, but also for society as a whole because we&#8217;re not making good use of many skilled people. Deval Patrick, BCBSMass/Andrew Dreyfuys and Juliette Mayers, EMC and Jackie Glenn, John Walsh chair of the state Democratic Party and Phyllis Barajas founder and Executive Director at Conexión.  It was a sold out evening and everyone had a great time! Congratulations to Colette and Get Konnected Boston’s premier networking event for multicultural professionals!</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The Conexión Alumni Discussion Series is off to a strong star with the first session fully subscribed and we had a waiting list! One of our mentees Mary Skelton Roberts noted in our discussion of Daniel Pink’s <strong>DRIVE</strong>: &#8220;<em>Good people, great topic and a nice environment for connecting with other Conexión partners.&#8221;</em></p>
<p>Studies show that 1/3 to 1/2 (depending on the study) of all adults in North America are introverts, yet the American culture has glorified the extrovert ideal. That is, Cain argues, a disadvantage not only for the introverts, many of whom end up pretending to be something they&#8217;re not, but also for society as a whole because we&#8217;re not making good use of many skilled people.
